Devrukhe origins

The Devrukhes and Chitpavans both share the rare Hiranyakeshi Shakha but are exogamous, historically the Devrukhes were treated as inferiors, but the common shakha does intrigue me.

  1. Devrukhes were treated as inferiors just for the Hegemony of one chitapavan Brahmin named "Chitale" from Basni in Ratnagiri who asked Devrukhe "Bhanu Tera" to help him dig a water body while passing thereby. The Bhanu Tera refused the work saying it does not suits his learned status. This infuriated Chitale and he spread hatred with Devrukhe Community. After cases in various religious platforms, grandson of Chitale apologizes Devrukhe community at Kashi Mandapam, Banaras, but the dammage was already done.
